Leeds-based G3 Remarketing is launching a second evening car auction just two months after the introduction of its weekly on-site events. This additional Thursday night sale will increase G3’s turnover by a further 25 per cent and create 30 additional employment opportunities in the region.
Already a renowned online auction specialist, G3 ‘got physical’ in February to satisfy a gap in the market. Recognising that some customers still prefer to touch, see and hear a vehicle before they commit to a purchase, G3 invested £500,000 in a new physical auction hall with 30,000sqft viewing auditorium, buyers’ lounges and space to store up to 200 vehicles under.
And in only a matter of weeks the new Tuesday night events have proven a fantastic place to buy and sell part exchange vehicles with a value of up to £5,000, with 97 per cent of offered cars sold each week.
But following an unprecedented level of demand, G3 is rolling out a second physical auction, from Thursday, for cars worth £1,500 or less. These will be supplied by a range of vendors – including trusted car supermarket AvailableCar – and checked in G3’s state-of-the-art new £100,000 inspection and imaging studio.
Commenting on the latest expansion for the business, G3’s joint director Matt Dale said: “’At G3, we’re well known for the levels of service we offer to both vendors and purchasers.
So, when we identified an opportunity to deliver an independent physical auction that truly prioritises the customer experience, we knew we had a fantastic chance of making this work. So far, all of the effort is paying off ̶ so much so, we’re doubling the amount of stock we list each week with the launch of our second evening sale.
“This means we now have four weekly events for both the trade and general public to choose from. A Tuesday evening physical auction with a new starting time of 16:00, online daytime auctions on Wednesday and Thursday, and the second physical sale on Thursday nights from 16:00.”
Matt continues: “We have more than doubled the size of our workforce since December, and hope to acquire additional acreage in West Yorkshire to house our growing team and stock levels.
“Thereafter, the longer term aim is to expand the online and physical auction sales throughout the UK, either organically or via acquisition. This second auction is just the next step in our longer term plan!’’
