The Jewels in the Crown exhibition – which will feature more than 30 of the monarchy’s most prized regal and prestigious exhibits from the likes of Queen Victoria, Princess Diana and the Duchess of Cambridge – will take place at the centre to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday.
The free-to-attend exhibition will give visitors the opportunity to see some of the monarchy’s ‘most spectacular’ assets and will be on display throughout the shopping centre until Saturday 4 June from 11am to 4pm. The exhibition is free to attend.
As part of the event the centre will be hosting crown and tiara workshops for children on Tuesday 31 May and Wednesday 1st June. Children taking part will get to create their very own royal headwear and be able to take their masterpieces home free of charge.
Karen Staniforth, marketing manager at Frenchgate Shopping Centre, said: “This exhibition will be a fantastic chance for the people of Doncaster and South Yorkshire to come and see replicas of some of the most iconic assets of the British monarchy on their doorstep.
“This is a unique opportunity for members of the public to get a close-up look at the Jewels and I’m looking forward to seeing the reaction of our customers when they take a look at what’s on show.
“We feel proud and privileged to say that we’ll be hosting this royal exhibition at Frenchgate and I hope visitors to the centre will thoroughly enjoy it.”
