Clinical negligence specialist Natalie Cosgrove, of hlw Keeble Hawson, has been appointed president of the Sheffield & District Law Society – the professional association for solicitors practising in Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley and the surrounding area.
Having successfully completed terms as vice president and deputy vice president, Natalie’s remit as president spans South Yorkshire’s legal profession and wider local community. She is committed to working with the society’s committee to support local lawyers by representing members’ interests and helping members of the public.
The solicitor, who has special expertise in birth injury and vulnerable patients, joined hlw Keeble Hawson in January 2015 and holds civil and criminal Higher Rights of Audience.
She said: “I have worked with the Sheffield & District Law Society for several years so am delighted to have been elected president. My focus for the year ahead will be on the local community and campaigning for South Yorkshire lawyers on issues that are close to their hearts.
“Another priority is to promote my chosen charities of the year, Sheffield Mencap and Gateway and Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice. With this in mind, the full diary of events and social evenings that are the Law Society’s lifeblood will also serve as fundraisers for these excellent local causes.”
hlw Keeble Hawson managing partner, Paul Trudgill, said: “We wish Natalie a productive and successful year in her role as president. Her remit is aligned with the firm’s deep-rooted ethos to put something back into our local communities and make a difference to the wide-ranging charities we support.”
