A morning HR forum on Wednesday in Sheffield will give decision makers an insight into handling difficulties such as disability dismissals, retirement and personality challenges and raising employee engagement and performance.
The free event will be hosted by hlw Keeble Hawson, in partnership with Creative Sheffield, at its Commercial Street offices from 9am-12.30pm.
Barry Warne, head of employment at hlw Keeble Hawson, said: “The HR, Legal & Behavioural Change Challenges forum will examine many of the common misconceptions surrounding HR and employment law issues.
“Our experts will cover frequently asked questions, such as ‘Can I dismiss a disabled person?’, ‘is it possible to dismiss someone for personality reasons?’ – and ‘how can I discuss retirement with older employees?’
“Advising employers on how to resolve issues they might have thought they couldn’t tackle, it will be particularly relevant to HR directors and managers, business owners and senior personnel who are responsible for HR, payroll administrators and HR consultants.”
There will also be an interactive session by business coach and chartered occupational psychologist, Kathy Denton, on increasing businesses’ creativity by tapping into neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to learn new habits at any age.
