East Yorkshire couple dig their new hotel project

Sam and dug the first sod on the site of their new six-bedroom boutique in Turnbridge, today – marking the start of a six-month redevelopment of their Peppered Pig restaurant and Pig’s Pantry deli. 

The Snaith Road development will include a new hotel – offering a modern twist on the traditional English Inn with a pared down, honest style – and the bar area will also be tripled in size to offer informal evening dining alongside the restaurant.  

It is hoped a new function room, for up to 120 people and 70 seated, which overlooks the couple’s beautiful landscaped gardens and the fields beyond, will be open from December.  

Glen, who will be project managing the redevelopment from scratch – and even getting his hands dirty with some of the building work – said they are both very excited about the project. 

He added: “It has been five years of hard work to get to this stage and we’re really thrilled. He The business has been going from strength to strength and we’re extremely busy now, and feel we’re ready to add this new exciting element to the business.  

“That said, we’ll be staying true to our ethos; everything about the new development from the building materials and the bed linen to the food and drink, will be from Yorkshire.  Even the Builder Stephen Ferguson only lives five minutes away in East Cowick.”
