Yorkshire estate agent Butcher Residential is urging local schools to mark the date for a forthcoming literary festival.
In preparation for Penistone Literary Festival, Butcher Residential has organised a competition for local schools in the Penistone area. Children are being challenged to design their own bookmark based on their favourite literary character.
The primary school pupil with the most creative entry will have their design made into a bookmark ahead of the September festival and will receive a £15 book voucher.
The competition is part of Butcher Residential’s festival sponsorship.
The annual event, held this year at Springvale Primary School, has secured speakers Mike Harding, Gervase Phinn and Gyles Brandreth. There will also be writing workshops, interactive activities for children and a vintage inspired tea room.
Anne Butcher, managing director at Butcher Residential, said: “Penistone has an increasingly vibrant cultural calendar and we are really pleased to have the opportunity to sponsor the literary festival.
“Hopefully our competition will encourage young people in the community to get involved.”
The competition, which has been communicated directly to schools, closes on July 8. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org
