The Drovers Arms, located in Skipwith, near Selby, has not only been named as one of Yorkshire’s 30 best pubs, it also been honoured with the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.
The pub was purchased by Graham Usher and Martin Firth in 2014, and since then the pair have turned it into a must-visit destination for both foodies, real ale fanatics and the avid gin drinker.
In achieving its top 30 pub ranking, the Drovers will appear in Welcome to Yorkshire’s 2016 Ale Trail, which will be launched at the Great Yorkshire Show.
The Certificate of Excellence accounts for the quality, quantity and recency of reviews submitted by travellers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period.
To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.
Heather Leisman, vice president of Industry Marketing, TripAdvisor, said: “With the Certificate of Excellence, TripAdvisor honours hospitality businesses that have consistently received strong praise and ratings from travellers.
“Just ten percent of business across the world are achieving the Tripadvisor Award by constantly achieve outstanding reviews on its website. This recognition helps travellers identify and book properties that regularly deliver great service.”
Graham usher said: “Receiving recognition from TripAdvisor and Welcome to Yorkshire in the same week is a double celebration for us.
“We are delighted to again be on TripAdvisor’s international map and Welcome to Yorkshire’s 2016 Ale Trail.
“Reputations are hard won and easily lost, and we work extremely hard to ensure The Drovers continues to offer great food, great beer and great service.
“We have a superb team – both front and back of house – and they work extremely hard creating and delivering a first class experience day in, day out. They, and us, are very proud of our achievements.”
