PR and Communications agency Acceleris has been named “Agency of the Year” in the public sector for the second year running. In the same week, it launched a major new not-for-profit organisation, created to help more disabled people into work, with an event at the London Stock Exchange.
It is the third time in five years that Harrogate and London based Acceleris has won the accolade in the UK Public Sector Communications Awards. It beat off competition from agencies from across the country for its work in the social housing, charity and the not-for profit sectors to collect the trophy at a ceremony at The Emirates Stadium in London.
The award came just a few days after Acceleris launched Purple, a new organisation aimed at creating a more effective, mutually beneficial relationship between business and the disabled community.
The agency has also been shortlisted in three categories, including Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy in the regional awards of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR). It is also a finalist in the Best Integrated Campaign and Best Publication.
Acceleris is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2016 and works for clients in the public, private and third sectors across the UK as well as for a number in Europe for which it won the ‘Issues and Reputation Management’ trophy at the European Communications Excellence awards in Stockholm.
Chief executive Peter Davenport said: “It is highly unusual for a consultancy to win the Agency of the Year title in consecutive years and it illustrates our consistency in devising and delivering creative communications that achieve their objectives. The fact that we were up against some excellent agencies from across the country makes the win extra-special.
“Our ever growing list of awards at regional, national and international level is testimony to the talent, commitment and hard work of a great team of people within the agency.”
