Emmerdale Star plays starring role in opening of estate agency’s new flagship Wetherby office

After helping more than 40,000 people to move home since first opened its doors 20 years ago, a Yorkshire estate is itself on the move.

Linley & Simpson, who specialises in both residential sales and lettings, has relocated its Wetherby branch into flagship new premises in the heart of the market town.

On the back of an increasing demand for properties, it has transferred its specialist team of seven staff into bigger and better offices on North Street after 12 years based at Westgate.

Since launching a residential sales dimension to the agency two years ago, its Wetherby base has needed to expand to keep pace with the business.

For an agency that prides itself on its Yorkshire roots – it now has 11 interlinked branches across the county – it was fitting that Emmerdale actor , who plays in the TV soap, took the starring role in officially opening the new branch.

The expansion is being highlighted by Linley & Simpson as a clear signal of its long-term confidence in the future popularity of Wetherby and surrounding villages as places to live and work.

This demand is underlined by the fact that its Wetherby branch now has almost 700 active buyers registered and searching for a property.

Located by The Horsefair Centre, the independent agency’s new home is more accessible to customers and provides a bigger shop window through which it can showcase the properties it has for sale and rent.

Branch manager Steve Kilby said: “The move to purpose-designed premises strengthens our presence on the High Street – and matches our increasing online profile.

“Having outgrown our original Wetherby office, we are delighted to secure a move into such a prominent and convenient location that sits at the heart of the community.

“Over the last 12 years we have witnessed a resurgence in the appeal of Wetherby and its surrounding villages – and the first six months of this year continue to reflect this magnetism.”

He added: “Jeff, a well-known face both on-screen and here in the Wetherby community itself as a ‘local’, is just one of the 40,000 people that Linley & Simpson have helped move home since our launch.

“We are grateful to him for taking time out from his busy filming schedule to mark a real ‘Yorkshire’ start of an exciting era for our new-look base.”

The Wetherby branch works closely with its sister offices in , York and to give Linley & Simpson blanket coverage of Yorkshire’s “golden triangle” of the most sought-after locations to live.

Jeff Hordley, who plays Cain Dingle in TV’s Emmerdale, performs the opening ceremony of Linley & Simpson’s new Wetherby office
