Buyers clamour for properties at Wilberby’s West Hill as builders move in

Beal Homes has begun construction at its in-demand West Hill development at Willerby, East Yorkshire, with several properties sold even before the builders move in.

The leading regional housebuilder has taken reservations for 11 of the first 19 properties made available at the hotly-anticipated site.

The development of 130 mainly detached properties, ranging from three to five bedrooms, with the first releases from £249,995 to £525,000, sits among traditional woodland and farmland on the Willerby-Kirkella border.

Beal Homes chairman and managing director Richard Beal said: “We’ve had an enormous amount of interest in West Hill and this has been reflected in a flurry of sales before construction has even begun.

“We knew there was strong pent-up demand from people who want to buy a Beal home in such a scenic and convenient location as we had more than 1,000 registrations of interest in West Hill in advance of marketing the development.

“The interest is partly due to the popularity of our highly-successful St George’s Court development which is just a stone’s throw away. In fact, several residents at St George’s Court have registered their interest in West Hill as they want to move up to a larger home.

“We’re delighted to now be able to begin construction and offer the opportunity for people to be part of this extremely attractive development.”

West Hill features 18 different house types, including nine top-of-the-range “Signature” properties on a site off Beverley Road, Willerby. Each home has been designed for modern life, with open, contemporary living spaces together with the unique option of altering layouts to enable buyers to create their own highly individual interior of unrivalled quality.

Beal sales and marketing director Sue Waudby said: “We’re not surprised West Hill is proving so popular even before a brick has been laid because the location has so many advantages.

“The site is close to local shops, including the Waitrose store within walking distance, excellent schools and other facilities and amenities. It also offers easy access to the road network to reach Hull, Beverley, York and Leeds.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to buy a high-quality Beal home, designed to your specification, in a highly-desirable location.”

Infrastructure work has now begun at the site, with construction of the first properties due to begin within weeks.

Construction director John Goodfellow said: “West Hill offers the best of both worlds. It has excellent facilities and amenities on the doorstep and is very convenient for the local traffic network, but has a semi-rural feel with the site fringed by mature woodland.

“It’s a large site, enabling us to create a feeling of space and a community within a community.

“Our civils contractor has now begun putting in place the infrastructure for the development and we will begin building the first phase of properties by the end of September, for occupation in spring next year.”

Buyers at West Hill can take advantage of the Government’s Help to Buy scheme which makes it possible to buy a new Beal home with just a five per cent deposit. The scheme is available to all new home buyers, not just first-time buyers, and enables purchasers to access a Government equity loan of up to 20 per cent of the value of the property.
