A York hotel has teamed up Oxfam to ensure its wedding fair goes without a hitch!
The charity, which has just opened its revamped bridal room, within its Goodramgate shop, will be providing a stunning selection of new and pre-loved dresses for the event, being held on Sunday, September 18, at the Best Western Monkbar Hotel.
And it is looking for a number of local models on the day to wear the dresses during two catwalk shows in the afternoon.
The day will also boast a host of local suppliers specialising in cars, cakes, jewellery, stationery, flowers, photographs and more, who will be offering inspiration and advice for the perfect day.
This is the hotel’s first wedding fair since the completion of its £3m transition, which saw the construction of a new annexe housing 26 new guest bedrooms and three state-of-the-art function suites, where the event is being staged.
Monkbar Hotel sales manager Nikki Brannan said: “We are very much looking forward to hosting our first wedding fair since the completion of our multi-million-pound upgrade.
“We are also delighted to be teaming up with Oxfam who are supplying the dresses for the fashion shows.
“The wedding fair is being held in our new function rooms, one of which will be laid out for a wedding reception, so everyone will get a real feel for a real Monkbar Hotel wedding.”
Oxfam shop manager Karen Clark, said: “We are very excited to be partnering with the Monkbar Hotel for their wedding fair, which is a superb way for us to advertise our newly revamped bridal room to a host of brides to be.
“At any one time we have more than 50 dresses, new and pre-loved, all in beautiful condition, and all at great prices. All we need now is a few models to do them justice!”
The Best Western Monkbar Hotel Wedding Fair starts at noon. The first 75 brides through the door will each receive a free goody bag, while everyone will be treated to a glass of fizz on arrival and a hog roast.
Anyone offering to be a model for the day is asked at contact Nikki Brannan on 01904 667703.
