Brides and grooms who have held their big day in a York city centre hotel are the stars of its new weddings campaign.
Couples who tied the knot at the Best Western Monkbar Hotel – which has recently completed a £3m programme of improvements and expansion – were asked to help create a new brochure by submitting photographs of their celebrations.
The hotel’s new brochure features no fewer than six happy couples pictured in either the Monkgate and Dales Suites, plus others taken around the city’s famous Medieval quarter, including the Minster.
Monkbar Hotel sales manager Nikki Brannan said: “The completion of the major investment, which has seen our star rating rise from three to four – was a golden opportunity for us to produce a new wedding brochure.
“And, instead of using models in posed shots, we asked those who held their wedding receptions and civil ceremonies at the Monkbar if they would help us create it.
“Whilst these photographs shows off our new and upgraded wedding reception rooms, they capture the essence of the day experienced by those who chose the Monkbar Hotel to host what is probably one of the most important and happiest days of their lives.”
The brochure features a pull-out of photographs, information on packages and planners to assist couples in their preferences. Menus and information on reception and themed package options are provided.
The personally submitted photographs are scattered throughout to show off the venues and options available for guests and prospective clients.
Mrs Brannan added: “We recently hosted a highly successful evening at the hotel, where prospective clients saw for themselves our upgraded facilities. It was very well attended and plenty of brochures were handed out on night.”
