“Small Business Saturday” saw the launch of a competition to find the best dressed shop window in Northallerton.
Organised by Caz Pring of Natural Knitter Wool Shop, the competition is part of the town’s retail and business forum events in the run up to Christmas and in support of the charity – Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
“I would like to thank all the businesses who have got involved, particularly new comer to the competition ChapterZ and long standing supporter Hutton’s Flowers,” said Caz.
“We hope shoppers and residents will show their support by nominating their favourite window. There are two £50 vouchers up for grabs if you nominate!”
All shops taking part will be displaying a poster and will have a stack of nomination forms. Votes have to be in before 4 January, 2017.
“Shops in Northallerton showcased the area so well when the Tour de Yorkshire arrived in the town,” said Coun Mark Robson, leader of Hambleton District Council.
“And this competition will not only encourage local people and visitors into the town to shop but also support a local charity. Hambleton hosts 3,500 small enterprises, all crucial to the vitality of the area and many run by passionate individuals who are intensely loyal to Hambleton.
“We also hope people will take advantage of our free off street parking in our district council car parks across Hambleton every Thursday in December and every day between 25 December and 1 January and also to shop ‘local’ using Hambleton based shops and markets,” he added.
