Businesses wanting to employ graduates are benefitting from a free recruitment service thanks to a new partnership between Leeds Trinity University and recruitment agency Reed NCFE.
Working with local and regional SMEs, Reed, who are based on campus at Leeds Trinity, are matching students with specific skills, with recruiters who are looking for graduates with those skills. The service is bespoke, and completely free for the employer and student.
Digital marketing agency Catalina recently used the service to recruit 24-year-old client services executive Holly Vickers, who graduated from Leeds Trinity in July.
Ben Bartlett, client service team leader at Catalina, said: “From the start, working with Reed has been thoroughly professional and personable. The candidates the team found and recommended were exactly what we were looking for, and their ability to understand what we wanted and put that into practice was excellent.
“We are looking forward to welcoming Holly into our team next week. She demonstrated exactly what we want in an employee at Catalina and think she’ll fit in perfectly. As our team continues to grow, we very much look forward to working together again in the future.”
In less than two weeks, Reed advertised the position and reviewed suitable candidates before Catalina held two interview stages and made the job offer to Holly.
The innovative partnership between Leeds Trinity and Reed is the only one of its kind outside of London. It supports Leeds Trinity’s commitment to producing highly employable graduates and its reputation of being in the top 25 per cent of all UK universities for employability.
Jess Sewter, head of Partnerships and Placements at Leeds Trinity University, said: “Leeds Trinity is absolutely committed to supporting our students throughout University and once they’ve graduated – which means helping them to find a job that’s right for them.
“We already work with more than 3,000 businesses through our professional work placements, Leeds Trinity Business Network and Jobshop, and I am delighted with our new partnership with Reed to help develop this further, particularly in tapping into unique opportunities within the SME ‘hidden’ job market. It’s a huge benefit to businesses locally and regionally, and our students who are actively looking for graduate roles and schemes.”
