Leeds headquarters Sweco, a leading European environment and engineering consultancy, has strengthened its asset management offering across the UK with the appointment of four new team members.
Joining the asset management division are technical director Doug Marsh and technical managers Neil Walker, Muthena Alessa, and Robert Lakey.
As well as supporting additional clients, this strategic expansion supports Sweco’s ambitions to continue to diversify and grow its service offering and enter new markets and sectors.
Mark Kaney, director of asset management at Sweco, said: “I am pleased to be adding four very strong members to our asset management team. These are strategic appointments in that they will allow us to offer an enhanced service to existing clients, but also to expand our reach into new markets and share expertise across the asset management division.
“For example, Robert’s knowledge of how to apply BIM principles to asset management puts us at the forefront of innovation in this field.”
Doug Marsh joins Sweco’s Peterborough office and has a wealth of experience in the water sector having been head of asset management for Mid Kent Water, and has previously guided Dublin Airport on its asset management journey to a ISO 55k accreditation and developed the airport’s €800m asset management investment plan.
Neil Walker offers a strong operational focus and has worked at United Utilities in the UK, as well as holding international roles in Australia and Saudi Arabia.
Muthena Alessa has worked at a number of asset management consultancies, including AECOM, IBM, Capgemini and Adivo, with a strong strategic advisory focus. Muthena has worked with Thames Water, Irish Water and internationally as a management consultant to the National Water Company of Saudi Arabia. He led the Heathrow Asset Management Centre of Excellence and implemented Manchester Airports Group Enterprise Asset management system.
Robert Lakey joins Sweco’s Peterbrorough office and brings to the team extensive expertise in BIM / PLM and information management, and has experience in the water, infrastructure and marine sectors with consultancies such as Haskoning DHV, Atkins and Jacobs.
In the UK, Sweco employs 800 people and has particular expertise in the fields of energy, transportation, environment, asset management, sustainable buildings and water.
It consults on major projects nationwide via its network of offices in Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Maidenhead, Manchester, Newcastle, Peterborough and Solihull.
