Barnsley accountants to host free Budget breakfast briefing

Barnsley-based accountancy practice Gibson Booth will host its annual post-Budget breakfast briefing to discuss how the changes will impact local businesses.

The briefing will take place on Friday 10 March, two days after the Spring Budget announcement by Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond.

This free to attend seminar from 8am-9.30am at The Core conference centre on County Way, Barnsley, will feature expert talks and presentations from senior managers and directors at Gibson Booth and representatives of Informed Financial Planning (IFP).

Gibson Booth managing director Robert Watson, pictured, and tax director Rob Howard will give their thoughts on the finance bill and how changes may affect local businesses. Representatives from IFP will also give a talk on personal finance, before a round-up from Gibson Booth’s director Gary Dickinson.

Around 80 local business owners and managers are expected to attend and will each receive a Budget briefing pack with insight and detailed guidance on all the changes. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and network afterwards.

Managing director at Gibson Booth, Robert Watson, said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming business people from across Barnsley and the Yorkshire region.

“The event will provide an overview of key areas from the budget and how the changes will impact businesses and will help them make sense of the government’s plans for the economy.

“It’s also a great opportunity for people to network and has proved very popular with a record number of delegates last year.”
