A Harrogate-based company has beaten off stiff opposition to be named Yorkshire’s best online estate agency – and now has its sights on finding new investors.
Esale, founded with a staff of just two in 2012, has quickly made its mark in a competitive and fast-growing industry. Already rated No 2 in the UK in its field on independent UK review website Trustpilot, the company now has a portfolio of properties across England and Wales, with properties ranging from one bed flats offered for under £50,000 to expansive town and country homes on the market for more than £800,000.
This week, it was confirmed as the winner in the Yorkshire category at the Acquisition International Business Excellence Awards, set up to recognise the achievements of ground-breaking businesses around the globe.
But, while thrilled with the worldwide exposure the accolade brings, MD David Rook, pictured, said Esale’s next objective is to build on its foundations in the UK and to join the industry’s players on the national stage.
“We’re delighted with the firm foundations we’ve been able to lay down over the past five years. We’ve been through a lot as a tight-knit team in a tough and ultra-competitive industry but we feel this award underlines the fact we’re ready to take on the big boys – and we’re looking for partners to join us.
“We’ve linked up with renowned crowdfunding experts Crowd For Angels to raise the capital necessary to cover that step up and, as of this moment, we’re already half way there. With just a few more investors with the foresight and business nous to recognise our potential, we could be as established across the country as we are in our own back yard in Yorkshire.”
Esale’s focus has always been on customer service, reflected in the company’s ground-breaking 100 per cent no-nonsense money-back guarantee – rare in the property market. Despite its comparatively small size, Esale is also a member of the international ProperStar network, which means clients’ homes are visible on more than 80 websites in 50 countries around the world and in 19 different languages.
“The property market is becoming an increasingly global one and we have to be ready for that,” said Mr Rook. “We also need to be aware of the potential of new technology, such as drone photography and 3D imaging and be ready and willing to adapt – and we hope new partners will allow us to make full use of them in the exciting times which lie ahead.
“Just like in many other spheres of business, to stand still is to be left behind and we’re determined, with the help of new investors, Esale will be among the frontrunners.”
