Specsavers goes to Joe Manby Limited for event expertise

Event services specialist Joe Manby Limited has added global brand Specsavers Optical Group to its portfolio of clients.   

Specsavers’ national partner seminar and exhibition showcases new developments and products for the coming year and is held annually at the Birmingham ICC for the firm’s 1,200-strong retail network in the UK and in Ireland.  

Following a successful inaugural event in 2015, Joe Manby Limited was once again briefed by the in-house events team to devise an event that would encourage engagement from delegates. 

The solution was a multi-track conference programme with complementary extensive shell scheme exhibition area to showcase products and services.    

Working closely with the Specsavers in-house creative team, Joe Manby Limited developed a layout designed to ensure simple navigation of the product exhibition area. Joe Manby Limited’s graphic experts produced 177 bespoke graphic clad wall panels – the equivalent of 2.25 tennis courts in area. 

Andrew Manby, director at Joe Manby Limited, said: “We were delighted to provide our full range of event services for this seminar and exhibition again this year.   

“Specsavers wanted to push the boundaries of what was expected by those attending to encourage greater engagement and ownership of the event from participants.   

“The break-down of the event also presented a big challenge. The exhibition finished at 2.00pm and the whole event had to be dismantled, packed and reloaded within two hours as the hall had to be laid up for a dinner for the 1200 delegates the same evening.  We completed the task and left the hall with just five minutes to spare!”
