Vantage Motor Group has provided a brand new Toyota Aygo to Saint Michael’s Hospice in Harrogate, enabling it to deliver more care and support in the local community.
A long-standing supporter of local hospice care, Vantage has been a member of Saint Michael’s prestigious Guild of Patrons initiative since 2010.
Thanks to the support from Vantage, the Saint Michael’s Outreach Team, made up of the charity’s occupational therapist, physiotherapist, chaplain, social workers, specially trained volunteers and other hospice professionals, will be able to reach out and deliver specialist care services to local people who wish to stay in the comfort of their own home for as long as possible.
Chief executive of Saint Michael’s, Tony Collins, said: “We would like to thank Vantage for their ongoing support of Saint Michael’s, and highlight how the generous loan of this new vehicle will enable the charity to make an even greater impact.
“The Aygo will enable the Saint Michael’s Hospice Outreach Team to visit more patients and their families wherever they call home, providing the responsive, high quality support they need, want and deserve.
“As a hospice care charity at the heart of the community, Saint Michael’s relies upon the amazing support of local individuals and businesses like Vantage in order to continue providing our specialist services.”
Saint Michael’s Guild of Patrons, a select group of local and regional businesses offering £15,000 of financial support over a three year period, is dedicated to securing the hospice’s future.
Managing director of Vantage Motor Group, Mark Robinson, who is also a Saint Michael’s trustee, said: “As a long-standing supporter of Saint Michael’s, Vantage is always keen to explore ways that it can make a positive difference.
“As the district’s only organisation solely dedicated to ensuring the very best end of life care, it is vital that Saint Michael’s has the necessary equipment to provide support to those in need. I am delighted that with the Aygo, their tremendous work can be extended throughout the local community.”
Saint Michael’s believes everyone in the Harrogate District should be offered the choice of the best possible end of life care regardless of their diagnosis or place of care. It is the only organisation in the district dedicated to ensuring local people get the end of life care they need and deserve.
