Google-proof digital quiz platform launches to revolutionise British pub industry

A Leeds-based technology entrepreneur is to launch an innovative, web-based platform for interactive quizzes.

Business leaders and the public are invited to the event to be held from 7pm on Thursday 30 March, at The Editors Draught.

The KwizzBit software combines the traditional format of a pub quiz and fuses it with the excitement of interactive digital entertainment. Allowing users to host and engage in entertaining multiplayer quizzes online via a smartphone, players compete for the ‘fastest finger first’.

KwizzBit, formed by successful entrepreneur Mark Walsh, in partnership with pub quiz guru Steve Saul and technology expert John Sheard, is played in real-time format. It is therefore cheat-proof as it does not give users enough opportunity to search online for answers.

The KwizzBit launch event invites attendees to be one of the first to test the ground-breaking new technology, with players taking part in four rounds of KwizzBit and enjoying a game-show atmosphere. The night will also feature music from a KwizzBit DJ and will raise funds in support of local homelessness charity, Simon on the Streets.

With an abundance of quiz topics available, KwizzBit questions have been designed to challenge and excite the user, by three successful entrepreneurs with more than 60 combined years’ experience in the pub industry.

The three KwizzBit directors aim to use KwizzBit to revive the Great British pub industry and eventually take a variety of other sectors by storm.

Commenting on the launch of KwizzBit, director Mark Walsh said: “KwizzBit is the next generation of the traditional pub quiz, bringing it into the digital age and we have seen interest from a number of other sectors too.

“We’re incredibly excited for the launch of KwizzBit in the pub industry and we have ambitious plans to extend the interactive technology into industries including marketing and learning and development. The launch event will allow us to gain feedback from players and showcase how fantastic this software works within a pub environment.

“Restoring the Great British Pub is a passion of mine and I’m delighted that KwizzBit, which only requires a mobile phone to play, is becoming noticed for the exciting opportunities it provides the industry with. We’re looking forward to welcoming teams and individuals to try it for themselves at the launch event.”

A small fee for participation on the evening will go directly towards Simon on the Streets, a local charity supporting rough sleepers and combatting homelessness in Leeds.
