A North Yorkshire pub has been shortlisted for a brace of Visit York Tourism Awards.
The Drovers Arms, situated in Skipwith, near Selby, is a finalist in the Pub of the Year category and Restaurant of the Year award.
Last year, the Drovers Arms was one of just 30 pubs listed in Welcome to Yorkshire’s 2016 Ale Trail, and was awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, which honours hospitality businesses that have consistently received strong praise and ratings from travellers.
Since taking over the 18th century coaching inn in 2015, owner Graham Usher has changed the emphasis from it being “just another pub” to one that serves up a mixture of traditional, homemade dishes and inspired modern British dishes for the true foodies.
And for those just popping in for a drink, it The Drovers boasts an enviable selection of award-winning cask-conditioned ales.
Mr Usher said: “Being shortlisted for two Visit York Tourism Awards is fantastic news and a massive vote of in The Drovers and the team here.
“Over the last few years we have introduced new menus, forged partnerships with top class local suppliers, and built up a loyal following of customers.”
The Visit York Tourism awards ceremony is being held on 22 June 2017 at the National Railway Museum’s Grand Station Hall.
