Heald Ltd’s directors Rod and Debbie Heald will be cycling nearly 240 miles this May to raise money for two chosen charities, Cancer Research UK and Stem4.
Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research by discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. Stem4 is an organisation which aims at promoting and protecting the mental health of teenage sufferers of eating disorders, depression, self-harm and addiction through the provision of support, education and practical advice.
Debbie Heald said: “We have chosen Cancer Research because this is a charity we have worked closely with in recent years and seen first-hand the benefits of what funding can do. Our daughter Emilie was strong enough to overcome this horrible disease and not a day goes by where we don’t thank God for the treatment and support she got.”
She added: “There are many young people who have struggled and are still struggling with mental health issues and we want them to know that it is okay, you are not alone. There is always someone to speak to. Publicising this charity, I hope will encourage young people to use Stem4’s website and make the first steps, a problem shared is a problem halved.”
