Sheffield financial planner Jillian Thomas is hosting a business conference to discuss the future political and economic landscape.
Jillian, managing director of Future Life Wealth Management and former president of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce, will bring together experts to talk about key issues facing businesses from across the UK.
The ‘Is This The Future?’ conference will feature guest speakers including former North East Derbyshire MP Natascha Engel, TV finance pundit Justin Urquhart Stuart and Sheffield Sharks head coach Atiba Lyons. The event will take place at Westfield Health in Sheffield on September 19, from 12:30pm to 5:30pm.
Natascha will focus on the politics of fracking and the potential impact on the environment, while Justin, who is well known for his red braces, will discuss life after Brexit. Atiba will share his past experiences of being a professional sportsman and explain how to create a winning team.
To complete the line-up, speakers from Westfield Health and Sheffield Hallam University will talk about the importance of collaboration to improve health services, while Jillian will share her thoughts on taxes and the increase to the state pension age.
Jillian said: “It’s brilliant that we’ve been able to attract such knowledgeable and high-profile speakers to discuss a range of topics that are all relevant to everyday business.
“The event is designed to raise current issues in Britain and give those in attendance the platform from which to prepare for the future. We are living in a period of uncertainty, where planning is crucial if businesses are to survive and continue to develop.”
Jillian is the immediate past president of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and was only the second woman in the post in the Chamber’s 160-year history. She set up Future Life Wealth Management in 2009.
The company, which is based in Renishaw, offers a bespoke financial planning service to generators and receivers of wealth, from business owners and executives to inheritors and retirees.
In 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, Future Life was listed in the New Model Adviser Top 100, which recognises financial planners for their qualifications, income and commitment.
