Mic Harrison

North Yorkshire-based baler provider Riverside Waste Machinery has recruited a new lead service engineer.

With a varied career, Mic Harrison he initially trained to become a Navy marine mechanic at HMS Sultan, Plymouth, where he remained for five years. He has gone on to enjoy a number of engineering roles, working on a wide array of technical equipment.

As part of his new role, Mic’s responsibilities will include the installation and commissioning of Riverside’s balers and compactors; reading and interpreting engineer drawings for more complex projects; repairing, servicing and reporting on the operational effectiveness of client machines, as well as delivering staff training. Managing director of Riverside, Jonathan Oldfield, said: “Mic has slotted into the Riverside jigsaw perfectly. He has such a broad range of engineering knowledge and skills, that he is already proving to be a huge asset, and I look forward to his career evolving with us.”

Mic added: “Looking to the future my aim is to assist in the continued growth of the firm, and eventually to oversee a much larger team of multi-skilled engineers.”
