Global Language solutions provider thebigword has launched an innovative mobile phone app which is set to dramatically improve the linguist experience.
Interpreters working with thebigword are extremely busy professionals working on very important assignments across the public sector, from supplying vital information to Doctors in emergency situations to helping to bring about justice in the court room.
The app, which has been designed specifically to support interpreters, will present users with a dashboard for scheduling bookings, accepting or declining offers of work, showing non-availability and their individual profile.
The schedule section includes all confirmed bookings, which are helpfully located on an online map with directions.
The bookings section includes all key information such as dates, locations, request types – face to face, video remote, telephone or video interpreting – and specific instructions.
The app also allows linguists to submit timesheets and verify these on the spot with clients. Not only does this speed up the invoicing process, it also puts valuable time back into the hands of our very busy clients and linguists.
Throughout an interpreting assignment, this app improves efficiency for clients and linguists.
Following a pilot carried out with a selection of linguists, the app has been modified to take into consideration feedback and suggestions from the linguist community.
Founder and CEO of thebigword Larry Gould said: “Our state of the art linguist app is an incredibly exciting development and will radically improve the linguist experience by putting power directly into their hands.
“It will allow them to manage their booking schedule, anytime and anywhere, stay in control of their diaries and find their next appointment.
“We hope linguists will find it a valuable tool to manage their work and maximise their assignment opportunities and productivity.”
Interpreter Habibulla Josefi said: “the App works perfectly and covers all elements concerning me as a linguist”
