Business communications specialist NGC Networks has implemented a new telephony solution at a leading Yorkshire independent school.

NGC Networks has completed a project for Silcoates School in Wakefield to replace a legacy Alcatel telephone system with a new Avaya IP based telephony solution.

The investment by Silcoates School has delivered improved internal communications as well as with the pupils’ parents. The telephony solution enables parents to make direct contact with their child’s individual teacher via voicemail to email technology.

NGC also provides telephony and network services to other Yorkshire schools including Outwood Grange Academies Trust in Wakefield and Leeds-based Gorse Academies Trust.

NGC Networks director Dean Harrop said: “The new solution is the latest Avaya IP based platform which offers greater functionality and efficiency to Silcoates School and its staff.”

Matthew Johnson, bursar of Silcoates School, said: “Our investment in the new telephony solution ensures the reliability and resilience of our communications with parents and staff while at the same time delivering cost savings to the school.”

NGC Networks specialises in implementing telecommunications and internet connectivity solutions for businesses across the North of England.

The company’s expanding portfolio of clients includes mail order business Freeman Grattan Holdings, The Family Fund, Timpson, Superbreak Holidays, Manning Stainton Estate Agents, Puma UK, Lowell Group, The Car People and Sharp Business Systems.
