More than 100 industry VIPs attended the grand opening of The Shire Bed Company’s new headquarters in Dewsbury.
Fara Butt, sales and marketing director of Shire Beds, said: “It was a fantastic day to celebrate our milestone. It was a great turnout and we saw a number of local dignitaries attend including the local MP, Paula Sheriff and Mayor of Kirklees, Christine Iredale, as well as our national suppliers and long-standing customers.”
After arrival, drinks and canapes, guests were taken on a tour of the new offices. There were a number of speeches on the day from Fara herself, Paula Sheriff, Yorkshire County Cricket Club (YCCC) chief executive Mark Arthur, Leeds Rhinos commercial director Rob Oates and Simon Chorlton, John Cotton sales manager.
Said Mayor of Kirklees, Christine Iredale: “Shire Beds is part of the bed rock based in Yorkshire and is more than just a manufacturer. It has a vision far beyond Dewsbury, long may its success continue!”
MP Paula Sheriff said: “I’m delighted to attend this event and witness the transformation of the building. Shire Beds plays a key role within the local economy, providing a number of jobs for the community.”
YCCC chief executive Mark Arthur said: “Shire Beds is constantly striving to deliver and be the best – a similar message to what our cricket club stands by, which is why our partnership works so well. The fantastic setting of the new head office definitely explains what the company is all about.”
Commercial director of Leeds Rhinos, Rob Oates, said: “We’re thrilled with our work with Shire Beds, it’s such a great family business that provides us with lots of support. Our recent trophy win is definitely down to the Sleep4Sport survey and its findings.”
Simon Chorlton, of John Cotton, said: “It’s always a pleasure to deal with Shire Beds, there are lots of good memories from throughout the years. Sadfar Hussain’s passion for the industry is renowned and that reflects in the success of the business.”
