Kirklees £4m new homes collection set to open its doors

Flagship £4m development off Mill Moor Road in Meltham

Homebuyers will get a first-hand tour of Huddersfield’s newest collection of family homes next month when developers stage two viewing days.

Only four of the 13 hand-crafted homes on the flagship £4m development off Mill Moor Road in Meltham– a cul-de-sac known as Willow Reach – now remain for sale, underlining the village’s growing appeal as a place to live and work.

But they will be throwing open their doors to the public on Saturday February 17 and Sunday February 18, between 10am and 3pm.

The former green field site is being brought to life by Yorkshire developers Berkeley DeVeer, with asking prices for the remaining properties ranging between £210,000 for a three-bedroom mews, to £425,000 for a four-bedroom detached.

A 50 per cent contribution towards stamp duty fees is available on selected plots.

All are available with financial support through the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, an initiative which is helping housebuyers in Kirklees to move on, or up, the property ladder in ever-increasing numbers.

As part of the scheme, house purchases at Willow Reach only require a five per cent deposit. It offers homebuyers a 20 per cent equity loan from the Government, which is interest-free for five years.

“It’s often overlooked that Help to Buy is not just for first-time buyers – it opens the doors to established homeowners too who have since sold their own properties,” said Dan Newett, managing director of Berkeley DeVeer.

“The Open to View days offer a perfect opportunity for potential buyers to see first-hand how Willow Reach meeting the needs of a growing local community, particularly the demand for new-build properties.

“Many are tailored with first-time buyers in mind to meet the needs of the local community, while others offer spacious family homes.”

The development is ideal for those who want to relax with countryside living whilst being in short travelling distance from growing major cities, situated just 19 miles from both Leeds and Manchester, and with Sheffield only 21 miles away.

With a strong local community and the countryside right on its doorstep, Willow Reach is a desirable location for those looking for a commuter base or those wanting their own slice of village living.
