A York city centre hotel will be staging its inaugural wedding evening following the completion of a £6m transformation.
The York Doubletree by Hilton, which is located on St Maurice’s Road, will be throwing open the doors on Thursday, January 25, to brides and grooms looking for a venue to stage their big day.
Being held between 5pm and 8pm with free “fizz” and canapes for those attending, the refurbished Dales Suite will be split into two, with one side “hosting” the wedding breakfast, whilst the other is set up for a civil ceremony.
Nikki Brannan, DoubleTree by Hilton sales manager, said: “We’re delighted to be able to show off our fantastic wedding facilities to couples looking for the perfect venue for their big day.
“Those joining us on the night will not only be greeted with a free glass of fizz and canapes, but they will be able to see for themselves the transformation we have undergone, enabling us to join the coveted DoubleTree by Hilton brand.
“Whilst we may boast a new name, which we are very proud of, one key aspect that has not altered is our dedication to customer service and attention detail.
The £6m programme of investment has seen the addition of 17 new bedrooms, air-conditioning in all new and existing bedrooms, creation of a new fitness centre, re-configured reception, enhanced courtyard-area and an “evolving” food and beverage operation including a new kitchen garden dining experience.
