One of the UK’s largest multi-academy trusts, Wellspring Academy Trust, has appointed a new head of estates.
Matthew Seed joins the Barnsley-based trust after more than 20 years in various roles at Kirklees Council.
Wellspring Academy Trust runs 15 academies across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire with a further seven in development. The trust is a different kind of multi academy trust based on inclusion, ambition and strong moral purpose.
Matt said: “The reason I was attracted to Wellspring Academy Trust was around the ethos, ambition and culture of the organisation and how I can assist in taking it forward on a continuous improvement journey.
“My main ambitions for my role are around effective and efficient management and service delivery of the estate whilst ensuring the needs and requirements of the students and stakeholders are maintained.”
Mark Wilson, CEO of Wellspring Academy Trust, said: “We are very pleased that Matt has joined the Wellspring team. His dedication and enthusiasm are evident.
“Matt has great experience, having managed a property portfolio at Kirklees Council valued at £1.2 billion. He’s a great addition to the team.”
