An independent telecommunications company is ringing the changes after being acquired just six years after launch. It is now looking forward to its most successful year in business to date.
Saltaire-based Selective Networks is now part of the iFace Group, established just last year, which has posted first-year revenue projections of £2.2M.
Selective Networks specialises in a wide range of telecommunications ranging from hosted cloud-based telephony, broadband and internet connectivity and mobile telephony.
Launched in 2011, Selective Networks is the brainchild of telecoms entrepreneur Jonathan Rutter. In September 2017, the business was sold to Doncaster-based iFace Group with Mr Rutter retaining his role within the company.
In addition to acquiring Selective Networks, iFace Group is also buying two IT businesses and setting up its own dedicated headset supply business. Currently, 12 people are employed by the group with more recruits imminent.
Financial advice for the acquisition and sale of Selective Networks was provided by leading West Yorkshire chartered accountants, Hentons.
Selective Networks managing director Jonathan Rutter said: “It’s been a whirlwind couple of months and we’re now looking forward to a very exciting 2018 with lots of exciting acquisitions in the pipeline and the potential for tremendous growth.
“Becoming part of iFace Group has taken Selective Networks to the next level, and we have great ambition for the new group.
“The idea is to provide a complete and seamless telecommunications and IT service rather than having to use separate providers for different elements of the telecoms mix. We’ve found that clients value the service all under one roof approach when it comes to telephony, IT and communications services.
“Hentons have been integral in the sale and expansion programme, providing comprehensive financial advice and ensuring the sales strategy was conducted in a manner to enable continued future growth. I’ve worked with Hentons for over five years and trust them implicitly. The advice and service I received throughout the process was faultless.”
Simon Gray, a partner at Hentons, said: “I’ve seen Selective Networks grow from a business start-up into a successful and slick, profitable operation which made it a desirable proposition. Jonathan made sure his business adapted well to the way the telecoms sector has evolved at a lightning quick pace. This approach coupled with our ongoing guidance is helping to ensure a very positive future for the group.”
Roger Gooden, group CEO of iFace Group, said: “Acquiring Selective Networks has given us a strong platform to build the group. Our goal is to become a market leader in IT and Telecom support and provide an efficient one-stop solution for all business communication requirements.
“We are now supported by a team which is passionately committed to providing outstanding customer service from project implementation to account management. Our passion is keeping our customers at the forefront of the digital world, future proofing technologies for the business environment of today, and for becoming the interface between the two distinct and relatively connected technologies.”
