Meadowhall’s landmark main dome was lit up this week to celebrate raising £112,000 for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, Sheffield.
The giant sum was projected onto the main dome to pay homage to the brilliant effort made by the Centre’s staff, retailers and shoppers who participated in fund-raising and donated to the cause.
The Centre raised the staggering amount with a host of fundraising initiatives over a two-year partnership with the charity, including its Supercar Experience, a charity Christmas single with renowned folk singer Kate Rusby and its annual sell-out charity concert Christmas Live.
Centre director Darren Pearce said: “We’re always looking for ways we can give back to the community. We’re delighted to have raised such an impressive amount for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
“The funds raised will help the charity continue to support families with children affected by life-threatening conditions. We are very proud to lend our support and it was only possible thanks to the huge generosity of our staff, retailers and shoppers.”
