Yorkshire chef brings global inspiration to Ilkley drinks venue

Paul Murphy

A Harrogate chef has been appointed to launch a globally inspired food menu at Ilkley drinks venue, The Ticket Office.

Paul Murphy has been brought in to develop a casual dining offer which complements the bar’s selection of premium wines, champagnes, cocktails, spirits, cask ales and craft beers.

Paul, who lives in Pateley Bridge, has previously worked at leading dining venues including The Yorke Arms at Ramsgill and The Timble Inn near Otley. He will be supported by sous chef Reece Harrison who also previously worked at The Timble Inn.

Mr Murphy, 39, said the predominantly gluten-free menu will provide an opportunity to enjoy casual dining and premium drinks in stylish surroundings.

The menu, which is available from today, Monday 23 April, includes signatures dishes such as oysters and steak frites, sharing boards, sandwiches and seasonal specials.

Dishes will showcase premium ingredients from regional suppliers including R&J meat suppliers near Ripon and Threshfield Catering Supplies in Guiseley, with seasonal specials created with produce from Ilkley based Lishman’s butchers.

The food launch coincides with the opening of Platform 3, a heated outdoor space adjoining Ilkley’s historic railway station, which will extend the bar’s dining capacity to 40 seats.

Ticket Office General Manager Lawrence Doyle said: “Paul beings with him a wealth of experience and a passion for globally inspired flavours. His appointment represents an important milestone in the continued development of The Ticket Office.”

The Ticket Office employs 12 staff and is owned and managed by Twisted Bars, a small group of independent venues which includes The Yard (Ilkley) and Everybody’s (Guiseley).
