A Harrogate architect firm has set an ambitious five year £50,000, fundraising target for Disability Action Yorkshire.
S+SA Architects, located on Victoria Avenue, has a long-standing association with the charity, having already raised in excess of £5,000 of them via a series of fundraising initiatives including a cycle ride last autumn.
Now, on Friday, September 7, the firm will be staging another sponsored bike ride and are encouraging as many cyclists to take part as possible – both experienced and inexperienced alike.
S+SA Architects director Mark Fisher said: “Our association with Disability Action Yorkshire dates back more than a decade, when we drew up the plans for their Claro Road residential care home.
“Disability Action Yorkshire does incredibly valuable work for disabled people in Harrogate and further afield, therefore we have made it our mission to raise £50,000 over five years.
“We are once again doing a charity bike ride, in which we are hoping to have two groups of between 20 and 30 riders, and we are encouraging as many people as possible to sponsor the event!”
“We are looking at two routes, easy and challenging, with both finishing at the same location. And for the riders who want to join us on the day, they know they will cycling to raise money for a great cause.”
Jackie Snape, Disability Action Yorkshire Chief Executive, said: “We are again very grateful to Mark and the S+SA Architects team for selecting us the recipient of their fundraising.
“Like all charities, we rely on grants and donations from a variety of sources, including individuals, businesses and grant-giving organisations.
“The continued support of S+SA Architects means a great deal and enables us to continue to support our customers through existing and new projects.
“Naturally we hope they receive lots of support and achieve their ambitious target!”
