Now in its tenth year, the Malton Food Lovers Festival later this month will feature a glamorous new festival bar for the first time, courtesy of Yorkshire drinks producer, Raisthorpe Manor Fine Foods.
Wharram-based Raisthorpe will showcase its award-winning gins and vodkas to cocktail lovers at its new bar on Stand 40, which will open each day of the festival from 10am-5pm.
On offer will be a selection of cocktails created with Raisthorpe’s range of Great Taste Award champions. As well as 9 ct shimmering prosecco cocktails, visitors can inject some Hollywood glamour into their festival evenings by raising a glass of the specially created Markle Sparkle – made using Raisthorpe Rhubarb Gin Liqueur, Crème de Frais de Bois, topped with champagne and a strawberry to garnish – to celebrate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding.
Described by organisers as Yorkshire’s Foodie Glastonbury, the festival takes place over the weekend of 26 and 27 May and is a celebration of the very best Yorkshire produce and cooking.
Yorkshire boasts the largest number of Michelin starred restaurants outside London. As well as 180 food stalls, there will be demos by four of the region’s Michelin starred chefs including Tommy Banks from The Black Swan at Oldstead, the best restaurant in the world in 2017 according to TripAdvisor.
Visitors are advised to expect heaving stalls, delicious street food, talks, tastings, celebrity chefs, demos, loads of music and more.
Held in Malton’s town centre the festival is free to attend and expected to attract more than 30,000 visitors over the weekend.
Raisthorpe Manor Fine Foods Julia Medforth said: “We’re old hands at the festival, having supported it since the beginning and are excited to showcase our award-winning range to both visitors and locals at our festival bar.”
