Numbers add up for Disability Action Yorkshire’s new appointment

Disability Action Yorkshire’s new finance manager, Andrew Hillcoat

Disability Action Yorkshire has appointed a skilled controller to the position of finance manager.

, who since 1999 has owned and run his own practice, will be based in the ’s headquarters.

Before starting his own business, Andrew worked for two major corporations, Honda and , the latter of which he was assistant financial controller.

Disability Action Yorkshire Chief Executive Jackie Snape said: “We are delighted to welcome Andrew to the Disability Action Yorkshire team, as our new finance manager.

“He brings with him a wealth of experience to this role, which will involve him working closely with the senior team and trustees to ensure we continue to remain on a firm financial footing.”

Andrew said: “I’m very much looking forward to joining the team at Disability Action Yorkshire, a charity much admire. I have worked with a number of charities over the years so am very familiar with this sector and the financial constraints experienced by many.”

Andrew began his accountancy career 30 years ago with an accountancy firm in Swindon where, in addition to preparing end of year for a wide range number of companies, he audited small and medium sized firms.

During his 19 years working for himself, clients have included charities, companies, independent schools and sole traders.

Andrew has also worked at High Wycombe-based Pixel Group Ltd and Meritlink Cables & Accessories in Dunstable as financial controller for both.
