Miller’s Fish and Chips named small family business of the year

The award was presented during a ceremony at the Mayfair Hotel in London

Miller’s Fish & Chips in Haxby, York, has been crowned “Small Family Business of the Year” at the Family Business of the Year Awards 2018, a celebration of the very best family businesses in Britain.

The award was presented during a glittering ceremony at the Mayfair in London attended by hundreds of guests from a whole range of sectors.

Miller’s was up against some of the finest family businesses in the country and was commended for championing their family business story nationally and giving a voice to the significant contribution family firms make to the economy.

, co-owner of Miller’s Fish & Chips, said: “We are incredibly proud to be named Small Family Business of the Year as it demonstrates the strength of the family’s bond and how far we’ve come as a team, as well as a business.

“We’re a fourth-generation family business with strong roots in Haxby, so it’s an incredible feeling to be recognised on a national scale for the collaborative efforts of the entire family, as well as our amazing staff.

“This year has been a real whirlwind of emotions since we were named the UK’s best fish & chip shop at the National Fish and Chip Awards, so to receive this accolade is a real honour.

“None of this would be possible without the fantastic support of our customers and team, who are an extension of the Miller’s family. We’ll proudly display this award at the front of the shop to represent a great victory for ’s!”
