Blacks Solicitors LLP is celebrating after taking home two awards last night when the Firm came top of the Medium Law Firm of the Year and Managing Partner of the Year categories at the prestigious Yorkshire Legal Awards.

The judging panel awarded Blacks the accolades for its enviable reputation of providing a first class service to clients and its continuous innovation and commitment to providing an inspiring and stimulating working environment for its employees.

Over the last five years Blacks has also seen a 74 per cent increase in turnover and, since relocating to its new Head Office at City Point last year, have expanded considerably with over 200 staff operating across two centrally located offices in Leeds.

Managing Partner Chris Allen, who won the Managing Partner of the Year Award, led the relocation which brought seven teams together under one roof.

Chris has also been fundamental in spearheading the Firm’s unique ‘4-hour call back promise’, and is extremely committed to developing and supporting everyone at the firm, with comprehensive skills and training programmes focusing on personal development and wellbeing initiatives.

He said: “I’m absolutely delighted to have received these awards and it’s a real honour to be recognised amongst so many great firms in the region. Moving to our new city centre space was a significant change for everyone, but it’s been incredibly rewarding. These awards really are testament to the hard work and commitment of the entire team – it’s all down to them. Everyone should be very proud.”

The Yorkshire Legal Awards bring together the region’s legal community to celebrate its achievements and recognise outstanding talent across Yorkshire.
