Charity Support Dogs has named Thrifty Car and Van Rental as its corporate fundraisers of the year.
Thrifty donated £1 to Support Dogs with every online booking received. In addition they have sponsored autism assistance dog Thor, plus the charity’s in-house magazine and events. The company has also promoted Support Dogs’ work nationally in its branches and on social media.
Support Dogs is a national charity based in Sheffield which provides and trains life-changing assistance dogs for children and adults affected by autism, epilepsy and physical disability.
Support Dogs’ fundraising manager Danny Anderson said: “We’re extremely grateful to Thrifty for their fantastic support over the past two years in making us their charity of the year.
“The support of businesses of all shapes and sizes is absolutely vital to our work, we rely entirely on voluntary donations and the demand for charity’ services is overwhelming.
“The number of families contacting us to ask for help has increased by over 400 per cent over the past five years. Thrifty’s support in helping our charity to grow and help more people has been crucial.”
Thrifty’s director of Central Services, Linda Malliff, aid “Thrifty has been proud to support such a worthy cause. Seeing Thor, our Thrifty dog, transition through his training to placement with his new owner and finally to his graduation has been immensely rewarding for everyone at Thrifty.”
