A Yorkshire communications agency is celebrating an increase in turnover and gaining new clients.
Capital B Media which specialises in PR, media training and crisis communications, has seen turnover increase by a third in the year ending March 2019.
The continued growth for the firm has also seen two new appointments in the last six months. This includes a new, full-time digital role to meet the increasing demand for video production services.
The boost in revenue is down to several client wins including Barnsley-based property developer Priority Space and a two-year PR contract with WE Great Place – an arts and culture project in South Yorkshire funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Earlier this year, Capital B Media also expanded its crisis management offer to work with international crisis experts RW Consulting Solutions Ltd. The partnership involves planning crisis management training and readiness activity for national, high-profile clients.
Kate Betts, director of Capital B Media, said: “It’s been an exciting year for us, with client wins and new collaborations. It is a tough time in the industry, as in most industries, particularly with the changing media landscape. But we know that investing in the right people, training and equipment means we can keep ahead of the game and do the best for our clients.”
Capital B Media, which has its head office at Millhouse Green near Penistone, was founded in 2006 by former BBC journalist Kate Betts. The consultancy, which has a satellite office in Huddersfield and employs a team of six, provides a range of communications services including media relations, social media management, video production, copywriting, media training and crisis communications support.
Over the years it has built up a portfolio of clients across the north of England and the UK, including national charity clients The Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA UK) and Anxiety UK, and media training clients including the Care Quality Commission, The Pensions Regulator and Michelin Tyres.
