Yorkshire’s leading lights to be honoured at Director of the Year Awards

Fewer than two weeks remain for business leaders to enter the Director of the Year Awards 2019 – a celebration of the most talented company directors in Yorkshire and the North East.

Run by the Institute of Directors (IoD), the annual awards honour the best in business leadership across 11 categories. The deadline for entries is Friday 12 April.

Richard Smith, chairman of the IoD in West Yorkshire, said: “These prestigious awards recognise individuals who meet the highest standards of leadership in business, the public and third sectors.

“We are looking forward to celebrating their business success and the inspiration they provide for other company directors across Yorkshire and the North East.”

The winners will be revealed at a black-tie dinner held in the prestigious Principal York hotel on 4 July. The categories to enter are:

Director of the Year – Non-Executive

Director of the Year – Innovation

Director of the Year – Young

Director of the Year – Public/Third Sector

Director of the Year – Family Business

Director of the Year – Inclusivity

Director of the Year – Corporate Social Responsibility

Director of the Year – Start-Up

Director of the Year – Small-Medium Business (up to £50 million turnover)

Director of the Year – Large Business (more than £50 million turnover)

Chairman’s Award for Excellence in Director and Board Practice
