Leeds based Digital Marketing agency Punch Creative has announced the appointment of a new commercial director.

Louise Wright has joined Punch from Splendid Hospitality Group where she was sales and marketing director for almost four years.

Having over 20 years’ experience in developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies within the hospitality industry, working with major chains including De Vere, Thistle, Q Hotels, Cedar Court and Splendid Hospitality Group.

Her focus will now be to support the agency management team to achieve Punch’s vision by developing relationships, returning investment and creating long term strategic growth for the agency.

The appointment ends the search to find the right successor for founding Director David Kirven following his retirement earlier this year. Kirven played a key part in establishing the agency back in 2007.

This change in senior management comes after a period of sustained growth for the agency, with a number of new client wins, staff appointments and its expansion into the PR and Digital Marketing sectors.

Splendid Hospitality Group has been a client for a number of years and the move will see Louise offering the agency additional insights into the hospitality industry.

She said: “Marketing can be complex, so we will further develop the agency to challenge this by being simple and effective – this reflects the agency as a brand. Clients, especially those in hospitality don’t want problems and complexities, they want clear solutions, ideas, results and a partnership that works.

“I have enjoyed working with Punch for many years, so I’m very excited to be part of the team and continue the growth of the agency.”

Louise joins the Leeds agency as the first female director for the brand, and will be working closely with digital director, Ian Shepherd, and creative director, Richard Lowes, to provide an effective balance of experience and leadership to the studio team. Having been a client for many years and sharing similar values and aspirations for the future, Punch was keen to bring Louise on board for the next chapter in its development.

Richard Lowes said: “Louise joining us feels like a natural step having worked so closely for such a long period of time. Punch value trust and relationships so there is a natural fit in terms of values and personality. What interests us from a strategic perspective is Louise’s vast experience in creating sales growth.

“We see a gap in the agency market for combining specific sales & marketing support for our clients. Where many agencies major on marketing, our approach will be to provide both.”

This is a key appointment for the next chapter of the Punch Creative which will see it build on the insight-led creative marketing campaigns delivered to clients in recent years.
