A Yorkshire estate agency is raising a glass to help improve club facilities for thousands of young footballers and their families.

Linley & Simpson is among the sponsors who are backing the two-day Poppleton beer festival, near York, this summer.

This year, all the money raised will go towards helping Poppleton Junior Football Club extend its kitchen area.

Its Chairman, Paul Bunce, said: “This is a massive project but will make a huge difference to the running of or great club.

“This will be our ninth annual beer festival and it remains our best opportunity to raise funds for the club as well as pride a fantastic family day out.

“We have become a favourite summer festival in many people’s diaries with more than 50 different local beers, a great selection of Yorkshire ciders, a Pimms and Prosecco tent, fabulous food and outstanding music.”

This year’s event takes place on Friday June 14 and Saturday June 15 at the club’s base at Millfield Lane.

Emily Wilkinson, customer service manager at Linley & Simpson, said: “We are delighted to once again support the work of this family-friendly club who play such a key role in the local community on and off the field.

“We are delighted to be a partner of this year’s beer festival as part of our growing programme of grass roots support for charities and good causes within the catchment area of our York office.”
