East Yorkshire business highly commended in national meat awards

The team at an East Yorkshire poultry business are celebrating after being highly commended in a prestigious meat industry award.
Middleton-on-the-Wolds based poultry business Soanes Poultry won the award for its Grain Fed Chicken in the Best Poultry Product in the annual Meat Management awards.
The winners of the 2018 Meat Management Industry Awards were announced at a celebratory dinner at Hilton Birmingham Metropole, attended by around 400 guests.
Soanes Poultry’s head of Sales and Marketing, Ben Lee, said: “It’s great to win consumer awards, but to know that your industry peers also value your products is very rewarding, especially as there were almost 1,000 products entered across all categories.
“We are dedicated to the provenance of our product and animal welfare, so it is a real honour for the whole team to win this award.”
The Meat Management Industry Awards are a celebration of the creativity, innovation and excellence of the UK’s meat industry. The awards consist of reader voting and product entries to determine the best in the industry, as chosen by Meat Management readers together with a select judging panel for product evaluation.
Soanes Poultry is a family business that was established in 1947. It supplies chicken to butchers and independent retailers in Yorkshire and to wholesalers nationwide.
