Yorkshire housebuilder Avant Homes has commenced works to deliver its new £21.8m Prince’s Gate development in Pontefract, on Longwall Road just off the A639.
The eight-acre site will bring 89 new homes to the area with the development less than 2.5 miles away from Pontefract and just over 11 miles from Wakefield.
Prince’s Gate will feature a selection of three and four-bedroom semi-detached and detached homes across eight different housetypes, all including the housebuilder’s superior specification. Alongside the new homes from Avant, a selection of homes have been designated for affordable housing.
The first properties are scheduled to be completed by January 2020, with the showhomes opening in November this year.
Located on the former Prince of Wales Colliery, the site is the third parcel of land Avant Homes has acquired in Pontefract from land and property regeneration company Harworth Estates and the fourth development from the housebuilder in the town in the last four years.
Avant Homes Yorkshire managing director Chris Coley said: “We’ve made a real investment in bringing new homes to Pontefract with a number of successful developments in recent years and I’m pleased that we’re able to continue that commitment to the town.
“We’ve seen with previous developments that there is a real demand for high-quality homes that are designed for modern family living in Pontefract and we are expecting Prince’s Gate to be hugely popular with a wide variety of buyers.”
As well as bringing new 89 homes to the area, the build programme will also create up 110 jobs for local tradespeople and contractors over the next two years.
The homes at Prince’s Gate will have high-specification features as standard and will include top-of-the-range integrated appliances in the kitchen, bi-fold doors, bathrooms with full height tiling from Piastrella and master bedrooms with built-in wardrobes.
Avant Homes Yorkshire is an operating company of the Avant Homes group, one of the leading private developers of residential property in the UK. It currently operates across 13 sites across the region, stretching from The Lanes in Knaresborough to Sorby Village in Rotherham.
