Orchard Care Homes, one of the UK’s leading providers of specialist residential, dementia, nursing and short-term respite care, is celebrating after winning an award at one of the care sector’s most prestigious awards ceremonies.
The Leaders in Care Awards, sponsored by Care Home Professional and Home Care Insight, celebrate the achievements of care providers in the UK and the suppliers that serve them.
The Innovation in Care category award (sponsored by apetito) was presented to Rachel Smith, head of Business Systems & Management Information at Orchard Care Homes, for her brainchild, “Project Ragnarok” – a revolutionary automated end-to-end employee life cycle, with fully optimised rostering and payroll integration.
Developed in partnership with Civica, a global IT-based services partner in digital solutions, software applications and managed services, Project Ragnarok recognises the need to improve time-consuming and cumbersome manual processes, with a bespoke, fully integrated Electronic Employee Record (EER), using Civica’s eManager System.
Receiving the award at the awards ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, Rachel said “ I am absolutely thrilled we have won the Innovation in Care category for Project Ragnarok. This wouldn’t have been achieved without the hard work of my incredible team, who have worked tirelessly to make the vision a reality.”
Orchard Care Homes has already demonstrated its commitment to using technology to drive growth in the health and social care sector, investing in modern technologies such as E-MAR (electronic medication), E-Care (electronic care plans) and Care Protect to help facilitate the best quality of care and enhance performance standards.
