The Sheffield-based educational publisher Twinkl has been named as the ‘High Growth Business of the Year’ at the Sheffield Business Awards.
The award recognises significant growth in sales, profit, market share, international trade or people employed. Judges also took into account innovative products or services and business plans for a sustainable future growth.
The Sheffield Business Awards take place annually, and recognise and celebrate the achievements of businesses in Sheffield, with 15 awards going to local businesses and organisations to recognise excellence in areas such as innovation and international trading.
Jonathan Seaton, co-founder and CEO of Twinkl, said: “We are so proud to have received this award. Everything we do at Twinkl comes back to our goal to help those who teach, so we take a lot of pride in our work. It’s therefore extremely rewarding to be recognised for all the hard work we put in to ensure we are doing all that we can for educators.
“The Sheffield business community is made up of so many talented groups and individuals. It’s a real honour to be recognised alongside such brilliant people!”
Twinkl was nominated for three awards: Large Business of the Year, High Growth Business of the Year, and the Innovation Award. CEO Jonathan Seaton was also nominated for Business Person of the Year.
2019 has been a very exciting year for Twinkl, with the company going from strength to strength, and reaching new milestones such as opening two new offices in Manchester and Sheffield, growing their to over 500 employees, and announcing the launch of their new EdTech startup accelerator, TwinklHive.
Last year, Twinkl scooped up three awards at the Sheffield Business Awards, for Outstanding Business of the Year, Employer of the Year and Excellence in International Trade.
