The creator of Barclays Eagle Labs has been unveiled as the guest speaker at the next #TechBites event in Hull.
Steven Roberts is chief scientific advisor for Barclays Ventures and the man responsible for creating Eagle Labs and bringing it to Hull.
Eagle Labs supports individuals, businesses and corporates to grow by driving innovation and transformation across industry sectors, through collaborations with corporates, universities and start-ups.
The free to attend event, organised by IoD East Yorkshire, is on March 10 at C4Di @ The Dock on Queen Street, Hull, starting at noon.
The C4Di (Centre for Digital Innovation) is a privately-run technology incubation centre that helps tech companies to grow and traditional businesses to innovate.
The event is open to both IoD members and non-members. Attendees can meet, connect and share ideas over drinks and pizza with peers, colleagues and fellow directors.
Pat Coyle, chair of IoD East Yorkshire, said: “There is so much energy around the tech sector in Hull and we are looking forward to welcoming guests to hear Steven talk about the digital and technological journey of Barclays and the Labs.
“#TechBites is a fantastic opportunity to discover more about innovative businesses and how the IoD supports and inspires directors at all levels.”
Steve Mullins, community banking director for Barclays, said: “Hull is an exciting digital hub with huge growth potential and we look forward to welcoming guests to hear from our inspirational speaker and see the fantastic facilities we have at the Eagle Lab.”
