Countryside has officially started work on site at its first open market development in Yorkshire. As specialists in placemaking and regeneration, Countryside is launching the development of 164 new homes on the 152-hectare City Fields site in Wakefield.
With the first completions expected in July, Countryside’s development is already proving popular with home buyers; since its sales cabin opened in January, the onsite team has secured seven reservations.
Countryside joins a consortium of developers contributing to the new City Fields community, which is anticipated to comprise 2,500 new homes, green space, as well as a variety of new shops and local amenities including a school.
Upon completion, the site will feature 115 new Countryside three and four bedroom homes built for private sale, all available through the Government-backed Help To Buy scheme, as well as a further 49 properties made available for affordable housing at Nellie Spindler Way.
Christopher Penn, Regional Operations Director, Partnerships Yorkshire, Countryside, said: “We are delighted to be officially launching our City Fields development here in Wakefield – which is the first open market development for us in the wonderful White Rose county.
“From the outset we have been committed to ensuring this development not only provides beautiful new family homes but also serves the wider community. Our expert team has worked tirelessly to put our extensive experience in placemaking and regeneration into action through the development of City Fields.”
