A North Yorkshire restaurant and pub has been nominated for a second regional award in the space of a fortnight.
This week it has been announced that The Drovers Arms – located in Skipwith – is a finalist in the Tourism and Leisure Business of the Year category in the Selby District Business Awards, whilst two weeks ago it was shortlisted in the Pub of Year category in the 2020 Visit York Tourism Awards
Owned and managed by MATTGRAY Hospitality, the restaurant and country pub – which last year invested more than £30,000 in its kitchen facilities – is a popular destination for both food and real ale lovers alike.
MATTGRAY Hospitality Managing Director Graham Usher said: “To be nominated for two regional awards in two weeks is just fantastic.
“The team here are simply over the moon with the news. It’s a real feather in their caps and is recognition of the superb work they do here, day in day out.
“When we took over The Drovers in 2014 it had been closed for a number of months and the village feared it would never reopen.
“Since day one, we had a clear vision of how we would reverse its fortunes and make it a success. We have steadily built up a loyal army of customers who travel from far and wide to dine and drink with us, which we are incredibly proud of.”
The Selby District Business Awards are being held at Hornington Manor, Bolton Percy, on Thursday, March 19.
The Visit York Tourism Awards are being staged at the York Railway Museum on Thursday, April 23.
